Raising over £50,000 for Climbing Out

On the 27th February 2019, Kelda became the first para rower to solo row the Atlantic as part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.
She spent 76 days on the ocean and rowed over 3,500 nautical miles.

Kelda took on the challenge to motivate, inspire and support young people facing mental or physical trauma. She rowed for a different young person each day, sharing their stories as well as links to charities and organisations providing support.

Row to Raise has touched the lives of hundreds, possibly thousands of people, young and old alike.

It’s also raised over £50,000 for Climbing Out, changing the whole outlook for the charity and enabling them to support many more young people in the future.

Kelda would like to say such a huge thank you to everyone for their amazing support.

The row has achieved more than I could ever have dreamed of. I couldn’t have done it without the incredible team behind me, the young people who were prepared to write and share their stories, the generosity of everyone who has sponsored of donated, and the inspiring and thoughtful messages that were sent to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!” - Kelda Wood.

Young People – The Stories!

Each day Kelda’s on the Atlantic, she’ll be rowing for a different young person who’s been through some form of mental or physical trauma. We’ll be sharing their stories, as well as links to relevant charities and organisations providing support. Our aim is to reach others who are currently feeling isolated and alone, to give them hope and motivation, and provide links to support that can help them to take that first step forward. You can also tell us about your own story. Read more to find out how.
