Verity A

02/16/2018

Verity lost her father at a young age and then ended up in an abusive relationship. She writes,

“A traumatic childhood and adolescence meant that as my unsettled young adult years creeped up on me, I crumbled. Completely. I had gone through so much, how was I now supposed to get on with things, get a full time job, save money, and live like an adult?! Impossible! Or so I thought. Before Climbing Out, I did not have the self confidence, belief or motivation to make the most out of life.

Climbing Out was the springboard which turned my mentality around. To the point where people have told me that I'm a completely different person to the one they knew 5 or 10 years ago! But the truth is, I am the same person. Climbing Out changed my attitude towards myself. I began to realise that I am capable, I can do this, I will be someone.

Today, I really feel that I have turned my life around! I have a good full time job, I live in a house with two amazing friends and I go on an adventure at least once a month.

If it wasn't for Climbing Out, I don't know where I would be right now. I can't thank you enough. Hopefully through sharing this through Row to Raise we can help more young people to find their feet and reach for the stars.”

Anything is possible.
